Creator vs Consumer

In this age of 2021, we all are aware of changes that are taking place around us. You all know about the recommendation engines. Useful if we need the commodity. If we don’t need the commodity, then, these services are just alluring and developing redundant desires within us. Perhaps, they prompt us to waste our money. Some years ago, we had limited access to internet services. We used to utilize our time and energy wisely on what was important and promoted our personal growth. The surge of the internet has led to various issues such as less attention span commonly known as ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder). Previously, this disorder was found in a limited section of the population. Nowadays, it is common for all ages from kids to adults.

I don’t support the use of mobile phones for kids. Kids are made to eat food by making them watch their favourite shows on mobile phones or televisions. It is an unpleasant but harsh reality in India. The initial years of a child are important for motor development. Postural deformities are a result of this huge change. Some parents suggest that they wanna include everything in their child’s life and claim that playing is also an integral part. I would like to inform them that the brain of a child is highly sensitive. Exposing it to radiations of electronic devices is itself harmful. Moreover, increased access to technology will develop undesired habits in their wards.

Well, what about us?

We also had limited access to Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+Hotstar, Sony LIV etc. We all are aware of youtube shorts and short clips available on demand by various creators. Although they are good from the perspective of a creator. But as a consumer, we are losing our attention span. To do something better it is essential to focus. I swear that most of us divert from our goal to grab our mobile phones, even though, we’ve turned off the notifications. Covid-19 days have resulted in less interaction with people. Most information is conveyed through online platforms, for example, the schedule of online classes, quizzes and tests.

What is a solution to this problem?

Some of us wish to learn new skills and grab a good job/ start a business, some of us aren’t satisfied with the job we do, some of us have retired but now want to research for our truth and this universe or perhaps some other things that we want to accomplish.

Most important is to recognize and evaluate what we want to be. It may be being financially independent, chasing our passion or living our life to the fullest.

Countries now prefer success and capital over the style of living. As a result, the focus is to earn and spend money. Soon, most of the people will lie under the category of middle-class. That’s good, poverty will vanish. But due to this people will learn how to spend money and therefore this would result in expending money on unnecessary services. Our life will take a paradigm shift from basic needs to psychological problems. Disturbance of the mind and less productivity. The way to prevent ourselves from such baits is to become a creator. This simply means to become the creator of our lives. There are plenty of people in the world working on the dreams they aspired for (not in terms of money but creating a new identity). To withdraw from wasteful activities, we must engage in something that possesses huge potential to grab our soul.

I would request everyone to decipher the code of their lives for the next 10-15 years. After this, I welcome everyone to the journey of Ultralearning. Soon, coming with deep insights on the book, Ultralearning: Accelerate Your Career, Master Hard Skills and Outsmart the Competition by Scott H. Young. I recommend everyone to read this book. Else, I’m there analyzing the book and extracting useful information from it. I would acknowledge the efforts of Mr Sandeep Maheshwari to highlight these important issues.
